A total of seven people are under investigation. They are accused of the premeditated murder of the legendary Argentine soccer champion of 1986 with the national team.
According to the AFP news agency, citing its sources in court, the case involves, among others, the neurosurgeon of former soccer player Leopoldo Luca, psychiatrist Agustin Kosachev, as well as psychologist Carlos Diaz. If found guilty by the court, they could receive from eight to 25 years in prison.
At the heart of the charges are the findings of the Commission, which was established to investigate the causes of death of Diego Maradona. The experts admitted that the medics, who were responsible for the patient, acted inadequately and recklessly.
The conclusion was as follows: Maradona was not given the necessary care and treatment, which probably caused his death. It was also established the exact time of the legend of world soccer: it turned out that when trying to resuscitate him, he had been dead for several hours.
