On Saturday evening, November 21, a man drowned near the city of Chapaevsk, Samara Region. He fell under the ice of Lake Dirty Erik.
The deceased went fishing and began to cross the ice-covered lake. It was already dark, so the man, apparently, did not pay attention to the promontory.
He fell into the water and failed to get out himself on dense ice. There were no people nearby, so no one helped the drowning man.
In the morning, employees of the search-and-rescue squad went in search. Four divers examined the bottom of the lake for several hours. The body of a man was found 15 meters from the coastline, at a depth of four meters.
Rescuers are sure that the cause of the tragedy was not compliance with the safety rules of the deceased.
