IncidentsThe girl fell into a coma and died two months later as a result of postoperative complications.
Twenty-seven-year-old Miss Brazil 2018 semifinalist Glacey Correia died after a two-month coma on June 20, the Daily Mirror reports.
The resident of Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, had repeatedly won regional beauty pageants, but Glacey's life ended unexpectedly after a routine surgery to remove her tonsils.
The girl underwent this simple surgery in late March, and a few days later had a complication - a massive hemorrhage and cardiac arrest. Glacey was resuscitated, but she slipped into a coma.
According to Lidian Alves Oliveira, a priest familiar with the Correia family, Glacey was in a coma for the next two and a half months "with no signs of neurological brain activity."
Another person close to the family of the deceased girl, Pastor Jacques Abreu, wrote on his page on social networks that the relatives of the beauty queen blame the doctors, whose negligence led to postoperative complications in Glacey.
