The incident took place in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.
According to SCMP, a bus fell into the water due to the collapse of part of the roadway after a container ship collided with a bridge. The accident was recorded at 05:30 m.p.h. (0:30 Moscow time) on 22 February 2024.
It is known that the empty vessel was travelling from the urban district of Foshan and rammed into the intermediate support of the Lixinsha Bridge. The traffic on the structure was immediately blocked, emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident.
Preliminary information says that only the driver was in the bus. Contact with him was lost, an employee of the Guangzhou Bus Company was declared missing. The authorities arrested the captain of the container ship.
Earlier it became known that in Bashkiria ambulance wanted to skip on a red light in front of a diesel locomotive, in the course of the accident killed a patient.
