In the Rostov Region, the second power unit at a nuclear power plant was shut down due to a steam leak

A steam leak occurred at the Rostov nuclear power plant and the second power unit had to be shut down.

According to the emergency services, no one was injured as a result of the incident, the radiation background is normal, and three power units continue operating. RIA Novosti reports that the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

Earlier, a smoke detector was activated in the turbine hall of Unit 4 at Kursk nuclear power plant. Meanwhile, the radiation background remained normal. The cause of the emergency is currently under investigation.

At the end of September, one of the power units at Kalinin nuclear power plant in the Tver Region was shut down due to automatic activation.
