In northeast Pakistan, on the Indus River, on July 18, a boat capsized with more than a hundred people on board, members of the same family, on their way from Rajapur to Machka to celebrate their wedding.
The Daily Mail newspaper, citing local authorities, reports that the boat sank near the village of Machka in the Punjab province. The reason for this is the overload of the ship and the strong current of the river.
20 people drowned - women and children who could not swim. 65 people were able to swim to shore on their own. Among the survivors was the groom. Another 30 people are listed as missing.
