In China, the dog who rescued his owner couldn't wait for him to recover from a stroke and died of homesickness at an animal shelter.
In China, a dog named Awang died of boredom while his owner was recovering from a stroke in the hospital. According to Shen Jianhuan, a police spokesman in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, the ten-year-old faithful dog saved his owner from death.
Avan's owner, a 78-year-old man named Yang, lived alone. One day, the man suffered a stroke. The usually calm mix of a golden retriever and a Labrador, noticing that the owner was unwell, started barking loudly and thus attracted the attention of the neighbors. They, in turn, decided to call the police, who found an elderly man unconscious.
Avan's owner was sent to the hospital and the dog was temporarily placed in a shelter for stray animals. Once there, the dog became homesick, stopped eating and drinking, and died 12 days later.
According to the manager of the shelter, many of the animals that come to them, get a lot of stress and can not recover from it, which is why they die, writes SCMP.
