Strong 7.7 magnitude earthquake strikes western Mexico

There is information about one dead. A wall of a shopping center in the city of Manzanillo collapsed on him.

The National Seismological Service of Mexico specified data on the earthquake in the west of the country, which occurred on Monday.

The magnitude of the seismic event in the state of Michoacán was 7.7. The outbreak lay at a depth of 15 kilometers, 63 kilometers south of Coalcoman.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 was previously reported.

"An earthquake of magnitude 7.7 [occurred] 63 km south of Coalcoman in the state of Michoacán," it was reported.

The tremors of this strong earthquake were felt by the inhabitants of the south, west and center of Mexico. In the state of Colima, a collapse of the wall of a shopping center killed a man. It is not yet known how many people have been injured. Also, there is no information about the destruction and material damage.

There are no deaths or injuries in Mexico City. The material damage is minor.
