Robinson helicopter with four people on board disappeared in Yakutia, authorities organized search operations

It is known that an emergency beacon on board the aircraft went off.

At the time of the accident there were three passengers and one pilot in the Robinson helicopter. The authorities have started organizing search and rescue operations.

“According to preliminary data, on July 19, 2024 at about 00:40 local time of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (July 18, 18:40 Moscow time) aviation space search and rescue center revealed information about an accident with a helicopter Robinson R44 II”, - said the press service of the East Siberian transport prosecutor's office.

The supervisory agency has initiated an inspection of all the circumstances of the incident. Polar Airlines aircraft will take part in the search and rescue operation.

The press service of the Yakutia Emergency Situations Ministry specified that the rescuers of the Yakutsk Regional Search and Rescue Base are on full alert. The distance to the emergency beacon signal from Yakutsk is 440 kilometers.

Regional SUSK RF opened a criminal case on the fact of violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of air transport (Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Earlier it became known that Boeing 777 after an emergency landing in Siberia will not fly to the United States.
