The airliner made a forced attempt, aborting a flight from Stuttgart to Egypt, because of a passenger's confession to committing murder.
According to Pronews, the plane promptly landed at Athens' Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. According to preliminary information, during the flight the man asked to be summoned by the aircraft commander and confessed that he had killed his spouse in the FRG. These words caused a wave of panic on board.
Due to the tense situation, the crew decided to abort the flight and land at a nearby airport. Upon arrival, the Greek police detained the passenger.
During questioning, the man tried to explain that it was a bad joke. However, law enforcement officers did not believe the prankster and sent an official request to Interpol.
Currently, the authorities accused the prankster of obstructing the operation of air transport and disruption of public order.
