Three foreigners with 60 kilograms of cocaine detained in St. Petersburg

Officers of the border department of the Federal Security Service in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region have seized about 60 kilograms of cocaine, three foreigners have been detained, the Federal Security Service of Russia Central Office has reported.

During a special operation, officers of the Federal Security Service, together with officers of the border department have suppressed the activities of the international channel of cocaine supply to Russia, having detained three foreign citizens in St. Petersburg, from whom they found and seized more than 60 kilograms of this drug, according to the Center of Public Relations of the FSB.

Criminal cases have been opened for this offence under the article on attempted illegal production, sale and transfer of drugs. The law stipulates a penalty of up to life imprisonment.
