Iran earthquake death toll rises to 194

The provincial authorities will provide all the victims of the earthquake with 850 beds in tent camps and distribution of humanitarian aid for the next three days.

Yesterday, January 18, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 occurred in Iran in the region of the Iranian-Turkish border. The epicenter was 15 km south-west of the town of Khoi, the source was located at a depth of 5 km.

Immediately after the accident local authorities informed about 133 people injured. They required hospitalization. At least 500 homes were destroyed. And today it became known that the number of victims of the disaster was 194 people. At the same time only 24 people were hospitalized, 10 of them have already successfully operated.

Local authorities have opened a tent camp for 850 people. They also promise to bring humanitarian aid to the victims within the next three days.
