The Turkish Interior Ministry said that the order to commit a terrorist attack in Turkey came from the Syrian city of Manbij.
The Turkish Interior Ministry has advanced in the investigation into the terrorist attack in Istanbul. According to Suleyman Soylu, head of the ministry, the order for the attack came from a Syrian border city. It is also known that the perpetrator of the attack entered Turkish territory via the city of Afrin.
Soylu also said that both the Mersin and Istiklal Street attacks were carried out from Manbij.
As a reminder, six people were killed and 81 others were injured in the attack on Istiklal Street. Syrian citizen Ahlam Albashir and about 50 accomplices were arrested on suspicion of committing the terrorist attack. It also emerged that the participants had been trained by American instructors before the attack, and that the perpetrator had come to scout the site of the bombing.
Earlier, the Istanbul Police Department showed CCTV footage showing the bomb suspect planting a bomb.
