On August 17, St. Petersburg police announced a plan «Interception» and took measures to detain a Toyota car, from which they opened fire during the passage of a wedding cortege in the center of Russia's northern capital.
According to the Fontanka newspaper, at around 13:00 Moscow time, police officers noted the sounds of gunfire and a brown metallic Toyota Camry with Chechen Republic registration plates. The witnesses clearly recorded that the shots were coming from the wedding cortege standing on Pochtamtskaya Street.
As soon as the car with the newlyweds drove away, the police announced a plan "Interception". During the chase, the crews of law enforcement officers blocked the Toyota in the area of the English embankment. The 34-year-old Chechen national gave explanations to the police. The owner of the car was not found to have any problems with the law or weapons.
Earlier in Stavropol, a quarrel between guests at a wedding ended with the throwing of a live grenade into the house of a man who was sad at the celebration.
