The suspected perpetrator of the terrorist attack in central Istanbul said that she was not alone at the site of the explosion.
The perpetrator of the terrorist attack in Istanbul, 50-year-old Syrian citizen Ahlam Albashir, said during questioning that she was not alone at the time of the explosion.
According to the woman, she was being watched and given orders. Thus, a terrorist with the call sign Haji was in close proximity to her. He looked at the crowd in the street and gave the order to activate the bomb, the woman said. Albashir also confessed to her involvement with the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
Recall that an explosion on Istiklal Street in Istanbul killed six people, 81 others were injured. Ahlam Albashir and about 50 accomplices were arrested on suspicion of committing a terrorist attack. It also emerged that the participants had been trained by American instructors before the attack, and the perpetrator had come to scout the site of the bombing.
Earlier, the Istanbul Police Department showed CCTV footage of the bomb suspect planting a bomb.
