A prolonged cyclone that killed more than 250 people and displaced tens of thousands across Africa continues to wreak more havoc.

After four days of devastating winds and rain, local communities and aid agencies are facing the aftermath of Cyclone Freddy in Malawi and Mozambique.

Cyclone Freddy hit Africa late Wednesday for the second time in a month and caused widespread destruction.

Weather monitoring centers warned that these countries are still vulnerable to flooding and landslides.

The cyclone has not yet subsided, warning that heavy rains will continue for the next 48 hours, according to the regional center of the French meteorological agency Météo-France.

At least 225 people were killed in southern Malawi, including in the financial capital Blantyre.
