At least nine people were killed when a light-engine plane crashed on the outskirts of the Dominican capital, Santo Domingo.
According to local newspaper Diario Libre, a light-engine plane flying from Santo Domingo to the U.S. city of Orlando was trying to land at Las Américas airport after takeoff. The cause was discovered technical problems on board.
However, the aircraft crashed. The victims of the crash were nine people, of whom three were Dominicans and six were Americans.
The newspaper notes that among the dead, there were two children.
At present, law enforcement officers of the republic are investigating the cause of the incident; the suspension of the operation of the air harbor has not been reported.
