According to the Sakhalin EMERCOM, ash eruption to a height of 4.5 kilometers above sea level occurred on Ebeko volcano. It is known that the plume spread in a northeasterly direction.
According to the United Dispetcher Service, no ash was observed in Severo-Kurilsk and no hydrogen sulfide odor was observed. There is no threat to the life of the population.
Recall that Ebeko is located in the north of the Paramushir island seven kilometers from Severo-Kurilsk in the northern part of the ridge Vernadsky. Its height is 1156 meters. It has been erupting for six years - since 2016.
