A family from the village of Shabanovo, Leninsk-Kuznetsk district, Kemerovo region, buried an elderly relative with coronavirus, but later it turned out that the man is alive.
Earlier, residents of the Kuzbass village of Shabanovo were informed about the death of their relative with COVID-19, who was in a nursing home. The man was buried in a closed coffin, but later it turned out that he is alive.
This incident happened due to confusion in the documents. Two patients of the nursing home were hospitalized with COVID-19, but later one of them was discharged with someone else's passport. The fact that the pensioner is actually alive became known a week after the funeral.
According to Yulia Brezhneva, Deputy Minister of Health of the region, after the incident, they organized an official check for compliance with the rules when providing medical care to two patients with COVID-19 admitted to the hospital from a social protection institution.
