Cars stolen in Chechnya and resold in various regions of Russia have begun to be seized from their new owners.
A criminal case of large-scale fraud is still under investigation in Chechnya. It is known that the case concerns the theft of several premium foreign cars, which were then resold in different regions of the country.
Thus, in March of this year, a resident of the village of Mesker-Yurt reported to the Interior Ministry's Shalinsky district of Chechnya that 10 cars, including a premium-class Audi and Mercedes, had been stolen from him. According to the man, he gave the cars to unknown persons for further sale, which was done. However, the man never received the proceeds from the sale in the amount of 200 million rubles.
As a result, a criminal case was initiated. The new owners of the cars were found and the stolen cars were seized from them. Now the foreign cars are under arrest in Chechnya, RBC writes.
