Tremors with a magnitude of 6.4 were recorded off the coast of Cyprus, as reported by the US Geological Survey.
The earthquake was recorded on January 11 at 01:07 local time, its origin was located at a depth of 19.6 kilometers. Epicenter of this seismic event was located at 115 km to the North-West from the town of Limassol, where approximately 154 thousand people live. Underground shocks were also felt in Turkey, Israel and Lebanon.
According to specialists of Euro-Mediterranean seismological center the magnitude of the earthquake made 6.5, the source was located at the depth of 51 km.
There is no information about victims and destructions. No tsunami threat was declared.
