David Depape, an illegal migrant from Canada, faces a long prison sentence for attacking Paul Pelosi, the husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
According to a report from the U.S. Department of Justice, the attacker has been charged with assault and attempted kidnapping of Paul Pelosi.
If found guilty, Depape faces up to 30 years in prison for the assault and 20 years for the attempted kidnapping.
Recall that the Canadian migrant's attack on Paul Pelosi occurred on Oct. 28. He inflicted several injuries on him, and Paul Pelosi, 82, underwent surgery. Nancy Pelosi's spouse was released from the hospital a week after the attack.
