Another 5,141 civilians were wounded.
The United Nations Office for Human Rights reported that between February 24 (the beginning of the Russian special military operation) and June 6, 4,253 civilians were killed in Ukraine, including 272 children.
The UN specifies that 100 girls, 105 boys and another 67 children were killed, the gender of which has not yet been established. Among the dead adults are 1,300 people whose gender has not been determined, as well as 1,617 men and 1,064 women.
There are a large number of wounded civilians - 5141 people, of whom 433 were children.
In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, 2,455 civilians were killed and 2,938 injured. In the territories controlled by Kyiv, 2,303 people died and 2,299 were injured. In the DPR and LPR, 152 people died and 639 were injured.
According to the UN, civilians were killed and wounded as a result of the use of explosive devices with a wide kill zone. These were heavy artillery, MLRS, rocket and air strikes.
The UN Office noted that the casualty figures are incomplete and the death toll could be much higher, since the mission does not receive complete information from the locations where the fighting is taking place.
