"The earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred on April 8 at 8.31 (0.31 Moscow time). Its epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean 88 kilometers east of the town of Severo-Kurilsk on Paramushir Island," Semenova said.
Hypocenter lay at a depth of 63 kilometers, said the seismologist. The expert also noted that the population of Severo-Kurilsk felt the tremors of up to 2 points. There is no information about casualties, injuries and destruction. Functioning of social and industrial facilities continues in normal mode.
Earlier it became known that the epicenter of the earthquake in China was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
