A state of emergency has been introduced in two provinces of Ecuador after the terrorist attacks

There were at least 12 terrorist attacks against law enforcement officers in the west of the country on November 1.

Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso posted a video message on Twitter, in which he informed his fellow citizens about the introduction of the state of emergency and curfew in the west of the country. The occasion was the attacks on law enforcement officers that took place on November 1.

"I have decided to act firmly within the law. We are taking measures for the protection and safety of citizens," Lasso said.

A state of emergency and curfew have been imposed in the provinces of Guayas and Esmeraldas.

At least 12 attacks on police officers were carried out in the country. Two law enforcement officers were killed. In a prison in Guayaquil, inmates took seven officers of the penitentiary as hostages.
