This is the first reported fatality in this country.
The first case of death from monkeypox was recorded in Peru. It was a 45-year-old man. He was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of the disease already in serious condition on July 27.
According to the local media, the man who died of monkeypox was also HIV positive and had a lung disease.
Recall that the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus declared the outbreak of monkeypox an emergency in world health, and earlier said that at the request of scientists the virus will be renamed.
