Press-service of island branch of Unified Geophysical Survey of RAS informed about second earthquake, which happened on the morning of June 1 this year on Sakhalin.
According to the department, the magnitude of the seismic event was 3.3. Experts have registered the first tremors on June 1 at 10:16 a.m. (02:16 a.m. Moscow time). Epicenter of this earthquake was located 18 km to the South-West from Onor settlement (Smirnykh region).
The focus of underground elements was located at a depth of 7 km, head of seismic station Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Elena Semenova stated.
Previously, there was information in the media that after the first earthquake of magnitude 3.5 the Emergencies Ministry of Sakhalin region recorded no damage to property. The emergency services of the Smirnykh district monitor the condition of the housing stock, social and industrial buildings.
