Counterintelligence officers in Yakutia detained a trafficker of more than 1.6 kilograms of gold

The press service of the FSS of Russia in the region reported that the offender was caught during a transaction for the sale of precious metal.

According to the agency, the gold dealer turned out to be a local resident. Counterintelligence officers accuse the man on the basis of part 4 of article 191 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal trafficking of amber, jade or other semi-precious stones, precious metals, precious stones or pearls).

According to preliminary information, the offender, born in 1994, got hold of placer gold and found a buyer from another region. In the course of detention, 1.6 kilograms of precious metal worth about 8.4 million rubles were seized from the intruder.

All seized gold will go to the state, specified in the FSSB of Russia in Yakutia.

Earlier it became known that Chelyabinsk customs officers found about 4 kg of jewelry and branded accessories in the luggage of a passenger from the United States.
