SciTechDaily published a material according to which a group of researchers from the University of Southern California and the University of Arizona in the United States concluded that a sedentary lifestyle significantly increases the risk of dementia.

To establish this, scientists conducted studies that involved more than one hundred thousand patients. Experts used special accelerometers, with the help of which the position of the subject's body in space was determined. This device allowed scientists to track the activity of everyone who participated in the experiment.

The article states that after six years of research, dementia developed in 414 people. Taking into account the peculiarities of lifestyle and demographic information, experts found that a sedentary lifestyle increases the risks of developing dementia if a person spends ten hours or more in this position every day. In addition, even exercise breaks did not affect the risks of developing the disease.

Earlier, doctor Valery Breder reported that the liver is the organ that determines the life expectancy of a person.
