Scientists in a large-scale study have found what excess sleep can lead to.
More than 14 thousand volunteers took part in the experiment, which lasted seven years. The experts considered various factors - dietary habits, physical activity, smoking, sleep patterns and general health. It is reported by the Turkish edition Sabah.
Scientists monitored the emergence of factors in the development of cardiovascular disease in volunteers. As a result, it turned out that the subjects most susceptible to the development of cardiovascular pathologies were those whose sleep was less than six hours a day. However, studies have shown that too much sleep is equally harmful to the human body.
By the way, the optimal sleep time for an adult is seven hours.
