German physician Freeling named the three most dangerous products for the intestine

German physician Thomas Freeling has shared his recommendations for maintaining optimal intestinal mucosal health.

Freeling told Focus readers that sugar is one of the most gut-damaging foods. The doctor explained that some types of bacteria thrive in a sweet environment.

Also, salted, smoked and sausage products were added to the list.

"These foods are on the list of carcinogenic substances, so, in principle, you should not eat more than 500 grams of red meat per week," said Freeling.

In addition, the German expert recalled the "bad" fats, which are found, for example, in mayonnaise, margarine and lard.

At the same time, Freeling compiled a list of wholesome foods. In first place were beans and vegetables, which contain ballast substances such as fiber. They are followed by inulin-rich bananas, a source of unsaturated fatty acids - fish, fruit purees containing pectin, as well as jacket potatoes and gray bread.

The doctor advised to stick to a Mediterranean diet and avoid dangerous foods.
