A total of 19 fungi made the list and were divided into three degrees of priority: critical, high and medium. This division was based on criteria for pathogen lethality rates, the number of new infections per year, the duration of hospitalization, and the global prevalence rate.
The WHO considered cryptococcus and mold to be the most dangerous fungi.
