Since the beginning of the year, 20.7 billion rubles worth of birth control pills have been sold.
Sales of contraceptive pills are growing in Russia. According to DSM Group analysts, sales have reached the maximum for the last six years and amounted to 20.7 billion rubles in monetary terms. This is 5% more than it was in 2022.
In physical terms, sales grew by 23.5%.
Pharmaceutical companies, as well as pharmacy chains also confirm the growing popularity of birth control pills. At the same time, the medical company BestDoctor reported that women now prefer to buy combined oral contraceptives.
According to experts, the increase in the popularity of birth control drugs is due to the restrictions that apply to the sale of drugs to terminate pregnancy.
For example, now you can buy mifepristone and misoprostol only after visiting a doctor, as they are dispensed only by prescription.
Earlier it was reported that oral contraceptives can reduce the risk of heart and vascular disease in women.
