A man started smoking at the age of six, which led to atherosclerosis with blockage of blood vessels in his leg.
In Buryatia, a man nearly lost his leg for the second time due to atherosclerosis with blockage of leg vessels caused by smoking. According to doctors at the Semashko RCB, the man started smoking at the age of six. As a result, he started smoking up to two packs a day.
In the end, the man almost lost his leg. During the first operation, surgeons managed to insert an artificial vessel into his leg and restore blood supply. However, the man did not stop smoking, and the problem made itself felt again.
Two years later, he went to the hospital again. It turned out that because of a bad habit, the previously installed vessel was swallowed up by atherosclerosis.
Doctors had to perform a second operation and save his leg again.
Now the man will have to take medication for life and adhere to a healthy diet. It is strictly forbidden for him to smoke.
