For healthy sleep, you need to reduce the level of cortisol accumulated during the day.
Doctors advise hugging before going to bed for easier and faster sleep, writes the British newspaper Express.
Experts note that about 16 million Britons suffer from insomnia. Cortisol, the hormone responsible for the reaction to stress, accumulated during the day, interferes with sleep. But it can be reduced by cuddling your loved one in bed. At this point, the body begins to produce serotonin, which affects the sleep and wakefulness cycle.
Hugging decreases a person's sense of anxiety and improves mood.
The reduction of stress load after hugging has a beneficial effect on the immune system, and the release of dopamine relaxes the musculature. All this in combination, as doctors explain, helps a person fall asleep faster.
