Hepatologist Pavel Bogomolov said that there are non-obvious ways of contracting hepatitis.
In the broadcast of Doktor channel, the expert said that one percent of the adult population in Moscow region has antibodies to hepatitis C. Also Bogomolov said that 38% of prisoners in Moscow region colonies have antibodies to hepatitis.
The doctor notes that it is possible to catch hepatitis without even knowing it through tattoos, piercing and unprotected sex. Sometimes those infected are not even aware that they are carriers of the virus.
According to Bogomolov, the danger of infection exists even through blood transfusions or blood components.
He said that donors should be tested for hepatitis C and B, as well as for Delta.
According to the doctor, it is necessary to introduce a test for hepatitis into the dispensary examination of adult population of Russia. This will provide objective statistics on hepatitis incidence in the country.
