Scientists from Italy said that the Mediterranean diet not only helps to prevent cancer, but also helps to cope with the effects of cancer and recover. The corresponding study was published in the scientific journal Everyday Health.

One of the key components of such a diet is olive oil, which contains monounsaturated fats. This component allows you to reduce the level of “bad” cholesterol, as well as improve the functioning of the cardiovascular system.

Due to the presence of fish in the diet, the body receives the necessary amount of omega-3, which has anti-inflammatory properties, and also improves the work of the heart and blood vessels, reducing the likelihood of new tumors.

Earlier, American scientists confirmed that a proper and healthy diet significantly reduces the risk of getting cancer. Doctors have also previously compiled a list of habits that should be abandoned to avoid cancer.
