Recall that the first case of infection in Russia was detected on July 12 in St. Petersburg. A Russian man contracted monkeypox during a trip abroad. After confirming the diagnosis, the patient was isolated and sent for treatment. The patient's disease is mild and does not pose a threat to life.

Gorelov also added that Russia already has treatment regimens for imported infections and as many as two productive test systems for diagnosing the disease. In addition, he noted that one should not self-medicate and, in case of any suspicion, contact medical institutions.

The main symptoms of monkeypox are nausea, fever, rash, itching, and muscle pain. If you notice any of the above in yourself or your loved ones, consult a doctor!
