American Kira Smith partially lost her vision after she improperly washed a lens container under the faucet.

It is noted that the girl went blind in one eye and lost her cornea.

Medics determined that the girl contracted a rare disease acanthamebic keratitis.

This caused parasites to sink into the cornea.

The girl contracted it six years after she started wearing lenses.

Supposedly it could have occurred when Kira Smith washed her lens container with ordinary tap water.

Four weeks later, the girl lost all vision in her left eye.

The patient said that because of the pain she could not sleep, use her cell phone and tolerate daylight.

Now the girl is undergoing treatment and hopes to have an operation to restore her vision.
