Within a day, 67 fatal cases of covid have been registered.
According to the emergency operations center on October 18, sixty-seven deaths from coronavirus were registered in St. Petersburg over the past day. The total number of victims of the pandemic in the city reached 22 964.
In St. Petersburg, as in other regions, the incidence of covid began to rise in September. By mid-October the authorities had deployed new beds for covid patients, a total of 9.5 thousand beds were equipped. Smolny also updated the rules for mandatory vaccination.

According to the city administration, almost every tenth among patients with COVID hospitals were vaccinated against coronavirus. Vaccination does not guarantee that a person is not infected, but it multiplies the transfer of the disease in a mild form.
