A study by US scientists has confirmed the health risks of a number of vegetable oils

This conclusion comes from research conducted by American scientists from the Universities of Georgia, Emory, Cornell and Texas.

They studied the content of different fatty acids in the blood of more than 85 thousand volunteers.

Having analyzed all available data, the scientists concluded that the ratio in the blood of two types of fatty acids, omega-6 and omega-3, affects the risk of both overall mortality and mortality from cancer and heart disease.

People who had a higher ratio of these acids had an increased risk of death, writes the portal of the scientific journal ELife.

It is specified that the study participants were observed for an average of 12.7 years.

During this time, 6,461 people died, of which 2,794 died of cancer and 1,668 - from cardiovascular disease.
