Ohio University scientists named vitamins B6 and B12 a risk factor for cancer

The best way to get vitamins is from food.

A team of researchers from Ohio University has reported that vitamins B6 and B12 are likely to increase cancer risk when consumed during cold weather, the Daily Express reports.

Smokers taking the nutrients were found to be three times more likely to have lung damage. To avoid cancer, large doses of B6 and B12 are not recommended.

During the research, information about 77 thousand people was studied. Scientists have found that the risk of lung cancer increases by 30% with an excessive intake of vitamin B12 and 40% with an overdose of B6. Most multivitamin supplements include 100% of the vitamin intake recommended by the US health system. This is 2 mg of vitamin B6 and 2.4 mcg of B12. Due to a lack of understanding of the situation, some people exceed the norm of vitamins thousands of times.

Vitamins are best obtained from food. Sources of B6 and B12 are poultry, fish and red meat, according to newinform.
