Finland is alarmed by the current situation with the spread of bird flu.
The current situation regarding the spread of avian influenza in the country is causing concern among the Finnish authorities. According to Yle, the Ministry of Health and the Suomi Food Agency have reported about the worsening epidemic situation.
In connection with this, as well as the risk of mutation of the bird flu virus, the Finnish authorities intend to check all farms. We are talking about almost 400 animal farms, in 24 of which the disease has already been detected.
As a result, 12 poultry farms have been closed.
As noted in the agency, avian influenza can be transmitted to mammals, and when mutated - to infect humans. Therefore, THL does not exclude a new pandemic among people.
