There are opinions that the caffeine in these drinks replaces sleep, causes dehydration and addiction, is harmful to health, and may not be in coffee at all. But all of this is wrong.

Experts dispelled five myths about the properties of tea and coffee in the pages of Al Jazeera. The first myth concerns the harm of caffeine. Specialists say that 300 mg of caffeine per day will not cause health problems, and if there are any diseases, it is enough to reduce the consumption of these drinks.

The second myth is that caffeine partly compensates for sleep, but this is not true, you should sleep 7-9 hours a day with or without coffee.

Another myth is that caffeine is addictive, but this is only mildly addictive because it stimulates the central nervous system. When giving up caffeine, it can be bad for a few days, but no more.

Another myth tells us that there is decaffeinated coffee. But experts say the opposite: caffeine, albeit in small quantities, will be present in the drink. When producing such coffee, 97% or more of the caffeine is removed from the beans.

And the last myth says that caffeine causes dehydration. Caffeine can cause a more frequent need to urinate, but the loss is compensated by the fluid that goes with the caffeine.
