Since the beginning of the 2023 epizootic season, more than 1,800 residents of Ivanovo Region have suffered from tick bites

Rospotrebnadzor of Ivanovo Region reported statistics on patients affected by tick bites.

As noted in the department, since the beginning of the season the victims of attacks of insects have become 1,800 local residents.

"According to the results of laboratory research of removed ticks tick-borne encephalitis pathogens were not isolated, in single cases borrelia (Lyme disease pathogens) were registered", - said employees of Rospotrebnadzor.

There were 469 children among the bitten ones, which is 26% of the total number of those who sought medical help.

Specialists remind about safety rules, according to which when walking in open nature areas (especially in the absence of information about the treatment of the area), it is necessary to wear clothes that cover all exposed parts of the body.
