In addition to the vaccinations that are included in the national calendar in Russia, there are vaccines that must be used by residents of certain regions and countries.

Therefore, before traveling to another country, infectious disease specialist Vladimir Neronov advised to find out from a doctor what vaccinations are required to enter the region.

In a conversation with Izvestia, Neronov specified that if we are talking about Africa or Latin America, a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever will be required.

Meningococcal infection is common in Saudi Arabia and African countries, while tick-borne encephalitis is common in Siberia, the Urals and some European regions.

Speaking about typhoid, cholera and hepatitis A, Neronov reminded that the diseases are widespread in countries where the local population is not characterized by a love of hygiene. At the same time, he emphasized that vaccination reduces the risk of infection, but does not cancel the rules to wash hands with soap, drink bottled water and eat in checked places.

“When planning a trip, clarify the requirements of the destination country and consult your doctor. Some vaccinations take time to develop immunity,” - added the infectious disease specialist.

Earlier, the specialist told what is associated with the risk of spread of West Nile fever. Also Russians were warned about the peak incidence of the disease.
