The consumption of highly processed foods can adversely affect health and cause premature death, reports Eat This, Not That.
According to author Clara Olshansky, the results of a study published in the European Heart Journal show that regular consumption of highly processed foods increases the likelihood of early death by 40 percent for people with cardiovascular disease.
Canadian public health expert Andy de Santis informed that such products include wheat flour, hot dogs and hamburgers, cream, butter and fatty dairy products.
According to study author Mariolaura Bonaccio, people need to return to traditional diets and give preference to home-cooked and unprocessed foods.
