The Department recalled that WNF is an acute transmissible viral disease, which is accompanied by fever, serous inflammation of the brain membranes, meningoencephalitis, systemic lesions of mucous membranes, lymphadenopathy, rash.
Most often the disease runs in a mild form, but in neglected cases can lead to encephalitis, meningitis, as well as death.
Specialists of the agency reminded to avoid infection, it is necessary to protect yourself from mosquitoes with special nets for windows and doors, use repellents, aerosols, fumigators and other means.
Rospotrebnadzor warns: this summer, a large surge in the incidence of West Nile fever is expected.
