In Novosibirsk, doctors have used immunotherapy for the first time in the treatment of cancer in a 2-year-old child diagnosed with neuroblastoma. At the time the tumor was discovered, the cancer cells had spread to the abdominal region and in the bone marrow.
To save the little patient's life, Novosibirsk doctors applied a new method of therapy - immunotherapy with Carbiz. During 10 days the child was continuously injected with the drug, which unlike chemotherapy does not affect the whole organism, but destroys only cancer cells, which are also in "sleeping" mode and are not visible on MRI or CT.
Since the cost of such a course of treatment amounted to 22 million rubles, the funds had to be raised with the help of a charitable foundation.
Now the child is in rehabilitation under the supervision of doctors. In January the baby will undergo the final stage of examination.
