Russian tuberculosis test included in WHO recommendations

A Russian-made skin test that helps unmistakably determine a person's tuberculosis has been included in the WHO list of recommendations. Irina Vasilyeva, chief freelance phthisiatrician of the Ministry of Health of Russia, told about it.

According to the expert, the test is unique in that it helps to detect the disease in its early stages and start treatment immediately. The fact that it has been included in the WHO list means that it is recognized by the international community, Irina Vasilieva added.

Earlier it was reported that Russian scientists discovered a substance with antitumor effect in an extract of Aspergillus cavernicola mushroom. It is able to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and their movement.
